Attorney Elisa Cozad brings more than a decade of broad legal experience, youth advocacy, and community-centered service to her role as a Family Law Attorney at Bliss Law Group. Known for her steady presence, thoughtful communication, and deep compassion for the families she serves, Elisa approaches every case with a commitment to clarity, dignity, and long-term stability for her clients.
Before joining BLG, Elisa built a distinguished career advocating for young people and vulnerable individuals across Washington and Colorado. As a Staff Attorney at TeamChild, she represented youth in a wide spectrum of complex legal matters—including education, housing stability, post-conviction assistance, protection orders, and reentry planning—while also engaging in policy advocacy and legislative testimony. She has taken on leadership roles in project management, Know Your Rights education, and community outreach, consistently centering the needs of families and young clients.
Earlier in her career, Elisa served as a Deputy Public Defender in Colorado, where she handled more than 1,000 cases at the juvenile, misdemeanor, and felony levels. Her extensive courtroom experience and specialized background in juvenile advocacy give her a nuanced understanding of the stressors that impact families navigating the legal system—insight she leverages daily in her family law practice. Her additional roles in youth programming, nonprofit leadership, and public defense investigation have shaped her into a well-rounded and highly relational advocate.
A graduate of UC Davis School of Law, Elisa was honored with the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award for her commitment to public interest work and equity. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Law, Society & Justice from the University of Washington, where she earned honors distinction and engaged in research and civil rights–focused internships.
Outside the office, Elisa finds balance in the outdoors—especially near the water. A year-round Puget Sound plunger, she loves spotting local wildlife such as sea lions, otters, and seagulls, or unwinding on her back deck with a blanket and a good book. Elisa is an animal lover (with plans for a future pet) and a loyal sports fan who makes it a point to attend several games each year, cheering on UW basketball, the Seattle Storm, and the Mariners.
Warm, grounded, and client-centered, Elisa is driven by the belief that every family deserves clarity and support during life’s most challenging transitions. She is proud to be part of the Bliss Law Group team and to serve families across Pierce and Thurston Counties with compassion, integrity, and excellence.
